Knarvik vidaregåande skule (KNV) is an upper secondary school offering both vocational and general education. KNV is located 25 km to the north of Bergen. It is the biggest school in the department and has a very good reputation and many applicants to our educational programmes. The school has developped an education programme which at the same time offers both general and vocational training and opens the pathways to studies at university and college level (TAF). This is done in very close contact with the industry, both private and public. The school is located in an area with strong mechanical industries. The oil industry and the oil industry suppliers play a major role in the economy. At the same time many people work in Bergen and are commuting to work there. The enterprises in the region are very dynamic and have broad contacts with their markets abroad.
